The Enchanted Room Glendive, Montana

This delightful 1919 two story house turned quilt shop is located just under two miles from Interstate 94. Owner Lisa Kelly and her team have been serving the local area since 1995, The quilt shop has been so successful that Miss Lisa purchased an abandoned Episcopal Church across the street and opened Enchanted Living. Do try to make time to see both shops when you visit! If you are traveling with a non-quilter, they can hang out on the front porch while you shop.

Back to the quilt shop! Over 6,000 bolts of fabric are arranged on the first floor. There is Flannel in both backing and standard widths – it does get cold here! Look for Tim Holtz, Tula Pink, Figo Yarn Dyed (No wrong side, like Homespun), Northcott, and Shannon Cuddle in 60″ and 90″ widths. Cotton wide backings are also on hand. There are solids and blenders, and a great selection of large and small prints. You won’t find batiks as they don’t sell well in this area, but you will find lots of beautiful Charm Packs, Layer Cakes, and Strip Packs. There is also a great selection of panels available.

Check out the samples; there are a lot of them! Most have a kit including the pattern, and sometimes the backing as well. The Sample Label lists the pattern, Made By, and Quilted By for each sample, something I really appreciate seeing. Cards are available in the shop for local long arm quilters, so do pick up a couple if you have a quilt that needs to be completed.

I would plan to spend at least thirty to forty-five minutes here. There are over 6,000 bolts of fabric to look at…
