Gruber’s Quilt Shop Waite Park, Minnesota

Located inside a mini mall just over five miles from Interstate 94, the door sign is small – but the sign on the roof won’t let you miss this delightful shop! The entrance is on the inside corner of the building. Owned by Melissa Moe, this shop is listed as the largest quilt and yarn store in the Midwest, and the claim is certainly believable! Fabric selections tend to be by rooms, not shelves. Facebook Live on Friday’s at 4:00 PM Central highlight tips and new arrivals.

Speaking of fabrics, you will find Kaffe Fassett, Tim Holtz, Fusions and Fusion II, Tula Pink, Loli’s Garden, Tilda, Northcott, and cotton that looks like cork. There is a sale room and a Holiday room. There are solids and blenders, and tone on tones in white, grey, ivory, and black. Batiks are on hand, and large and small prints of all kinds. With over 10,000 bolts of quilting fabric, you are sure to find many that need to come home with you. There is also Shannon Cuddle in 60″ and 90″ widths. Cotton wide backings are available, and there is a great selection of flannels. If you like stripes or dots, there are shelves of them as well. Jelly Rolls, Charm Packs, and Layer Cakes are here to tempt you as well.

Samples are displayed on every available wall, from king sized offerings to table toppers and lap quilts. Pattern names and kit availability are on the labels with the quilts, so you have the option of buying the kit or getting the pattern and choosing your own fabrics to match your decor.

Edge to edge long arm quilting is available in house. Please contact the shop for pricing and lead times. Check out the beautiful threads on hand for both quilting and embroidery.

I would plan to spend around an hour here. I spent almost two hours, and I’m sure I missed something!
