Twin Cities Quilting New Brighton, Minnesota

Located in what looks like a small industrial park just under a half mile from Interstate 35, this shop was busy when I visited, in spite of the parking lot being completely torn up and being replaced. Entry was around the back, and the fact that everyone was cheerfully finding their way around the building and in the back door says a lot about the shop. Owner Faye Hoch and her staff have bee recognized as a Quilt Sampler Top Shop, and with the wide selection of quilting fabrics and more it is easy to see why.

About the fabric, there are over 6,000 bolts of quilting fabric on hand., Anna Maria for Free Spirit, Hoffman, Charlie Harper, Northcott, Stof, and Phoebe Fabrics are just a few of the designers featured. About half of the fabrics are ones I have not seen anywhere else, and is a great blend of modern and traditional prints.. Shelving is by designer and collection, so you can browse for your favorites and check out ones you’ve not seen before along the way. Grunge is available in plain, dots, and stars. There are solids and blenders, and prints both large and small. Check out the shelves of batiks! Wide backings are on hand, as are panels, kits, and bundles . If you enjoy making bags, there is a wonderful selection of canvas, including waxed canvas for strength and durability.

Admire the wonderful samples, both quilts and bags. There are also kits on hand. Patterns are with the samples, so you can pick one up and build your own kit in your colors if you want. Don’t miss the Quiltachusetts Modern Quilt patterns! There is also a nice selection of Creative Grid rulers.

Long Arm services are available in edge to edge or custom; please call the shop directly for pricing and lead times. I would plan to be here for at least thirty to forty-five minutes.
