Located about eight miles from Interstate 84, this shop opened in 1979. Owner Sandy Hansen has been serving the local community ever since, providing everything from long arm service to hemstitching flannel.
The over 2,000 bolts of fabrics include everything from flannels and Cuddle, to solids, blenders, and tone-on-tone. Kaffe Fassett fabrics are available. There is also a great selection of plain Grunge, as well as small prints and some nice large prints that would be great for Stack-n-Whack. Wool for those of you who make wool quilts is here as well. Kits for quilts, and “Cutie Packs” – collections of sixteen fat eighths – are also available. Charm Packs, Jelly Rolls, and trims fill out the offerings. Patterns are displayed throughout the store.
This machine is one I had never seen before. It makes a regular line of homes in flannel, that are then used to make crocheted trim on the item. It is called hemstitching, and you can bring your own flannel or buy it from the shop. There are also prepunched kits for sale to make Receiving Blanket and Burp Sets. I did a few crocheted trims when I was much younger, and getting the spacing even while pushing the crochet hook though the fabric can be a nightmare – this machine makes it so easy!
Long arm quilting services are available here, with two machines in the shop. Please call the shop for details, pricing, and lead times. Check out the samples while you are in the store, to get an idea of what patterns are available. There is also a beginning sewing class offered by the shop, as well as quilting classes. There are three Block of the Month Clubs in process now, so check them out and join one if you wish.
For the yarn artist, there is a great selection of yarns here, many suitable for crocheted trims. Take some time to check them out of you or someone you know knits or crochets.
