Welcome to the North American Shop Hop!!

Have you ever done a Quilt Shop Hop, where you visit 10 or more quilt shops over the period of several days, getting a stamp on your Passport at each shop? At the end you turn in your Passport to be drawn for prizes. What if the Shop Hop covered the entire North American continent, with no time limit? Think of how many shops you could visit…. The fabrics… The ideas… The people you’d meet…

My name is Jean Heller. I retired from nine to five work on May 1, 2019, and took off to see the country – both the United States and Canada. I’ve been stopping at a lot of quilt shops along the way, and when I stopped in Las Vegas to see my daugher she said I needed to start a blog to share the different shops, as I was sharing them with her. I got to thinking – perhaps I could answer the question, “Does anyone know of a quilt shop in….?” I started taking notes when I got to South Dakota – I’ll have to go back and revisit the shops where I didn’t take pictures when I visited. Such a problem to have!!

I travel in a micro camper, soon (hopefully) to be grown into something I can stand up in. Meanwhile, join me as I talk to quilt shop owners and look for what is unique – as well as what is similar – in the shops I find along the way. There are hundreds of shops – this could take years…..

Check back on Monday and see the first stop on the North American Shop Hop!!

  1. Always enjoy watching your travels. Can’t wait for the quilt shops. This should be fun. Never did a shop hop.
