This delightfully Amish shop is located less than a mile from US 219 and 27 miles south of Interstate 68. Owner Ruth Yoder’s parents started the shop in 1970 or thereabouts, and she is now running it.
Please note, the shop accepts cash or checks – no electronic payments.
There is wonderful fabric here, including a great collection of Northcott blenders. Then there are large and small prints, and solids and tone on tones to complement them. I saw some great candidates for Stack-n-Whack! Batiks are well represented in the over 750 bolts on hand, as are wide backings to finish your masterpiece. Fleece and flannel, as well as poly cotton dress fabrics, are also available. Notions, laces, and trims to finish your crazy quilt or your latest dress are available.
Check out the floss collection! If Miss Ruth missed a color, you couldn’t prove it be me. These go with the large selection of Jack Dempsey Needle Art pre-printed embroidery kits. There are also hand made rag rungs available. It’s a great way to recycle old clothing. I remember making these with my mother-in-law on a frame that stretched between the house and the shed, and they wore for years.
I would plan to be here for at least twenty to thirty minutes.
