Located less than two miles from Interstate 20, this is one of three locations for this business. The others are in Marietta and Atlanta; I was not able to visit them this trip.
The shop has been in business since 2012; Nick and Amanda Meabon are the new owners. It was listed as one of the top 10 shops in the United States in 2022, and is definitely worth the detour and a great way to take a break if you are driving cross country.
On to the fabric! Grunge in plain and stars, solids and blenders, and wonderful large and small prints are all part of the 3,500 plus bolts on hand here. Kaffe Fassett, Anna Marie, and Kimberbell are some of the featured designers. Fat quarters are shelved with their parent bolts, so finding the one you need is simple. Toweling is available. Wide backings are on hand, as is Shannon Cuddle in 60″ and 90″ widths. There are some panels, and precuts include Jelly Rolls, Charm Packs, and Layer Cakes.
There are wonderful samples on display, with patterns available. This is a Sassy Sunflower location. If you have not seen these yet, Sassy Sunflower makes a selection of patterns using five 1/2 yard selections. You buy the fabric pack and choose one of several patterns, from quilts to totes. There were ten at last count but more are always coming. They only sell to one store in each area, so you don’t see them everywhere. The quilts are quick to make and a nice throw size.
The shop is a dealer for Bernina and Baby Lock machines, and repairs all brands in house. This is a Kimberbell shop, so check out the embroidery patterns while you’re visiting. The shop also carries a great selection of notions and threads. I would plan to spend at least thirty to forty minutes here, longer if you are looking at machines.
