Located just eight miles from Interstate 70, or less than two miles from the I70 Business Loop, this family friendly shop is a great stop with kids, since there is a children’s playroom on site. Owner Robin Hood opened in March of 2020, just in time to deal with – and survive nicely, thank you very much – the Covid mess. The shop also has a Customer Lounge with a library of quilting patterns and books, so if you’re looking for something different, do check it out.
Let’s focus for a bit on the fabric. There are over 2,000 bolts on hand, including great batiks and wonderful large and small prints. Don’t miss the solids, blenders, and tone on tones. Look for the many panels; there are over 100 on hand and they range in styles from animals to abstracts to flowers. Some panels are prints of local photographs, and are not available elsewhere. The store specializes in novelty prints, so if you are working on a themed quilt, check them out, particularly the many wildlife prints. Flannels and Minkee are also on hand. Strip packs and Fat Quarter Bundles can be found here as well.
If you enjoy cutting with Accuquilt GO but don’t have a large selection of dyes, there is a group that meets here monthly, and you can rent dyes in the store. Samples are also on display, and they are sold when the line sells out. Love one? Ask to reserve it! There are also classes from beginners on up. Check out the gift ready consignment goods, including quilts, place mats, and tatting, all locally made.
The shop long arm system can be rented after a class on proper usage; please contact the shop directly for details. Note that the shop is open later on week nights. This is because, before she opened the shop, the owner found it difficult to shop after work, so she wanted her customers to have that option
I would plan to spend thirty to forty-five minutes here; longer if you get lost in the pattern library…
