Located less than a mile from Interstate 90, this busy shop is a meet and greet place for the local quilters, as well as maintaining a bulletin board of cards for other local small businesses, such as long arm quilters. Given its location in a town of less than 2,000 people, that is not surprising. Owner Theresa Durst keeps the local economy busy with classes and clubs, and can sort out just about any issue you might have with a pattern.
Fabrics range from solids and blenders to tone on tones and plain Grunge. The 2,500 plus bolts on hand also include large and small prints, including some excellent Stack-n-Whack candidates. The line of flannels here are called “Woolies” – 100% cotton flannel that looks and feels like wool. For someone like me who can’t touch wool., that is a definite plus! There is also a selection of real wool for quilting and applique. Fabric is generally shelved by color, and fat quarters are shelved near the bolts. There are fat quarter bundles, 2 1/2″ strip packs, 5 inch square packs, and 2 1/2″ square packs. Check out the toweling and embroidery kits!
Samples are everywhere, and there are kits available. Please note that most of the kits do not include the pattern; it is sold separately. There are currently two Block of the Month groups running, one doing American Pie and the other doing a Shine On Sampler. Please call the shop for more information if you would like to get involved with these.
I would plan to spend at least twenty to forty minutes here to see all of the goodies.
