Located just about five miles from Interstate 80, this delightful double shop is a great stop for both quilters and model railroaders. Owners Lynn and Andrew Holbrook opened their joint venture in 2020, just in time to work through the COVID mess and come out the other side with a going concern and a loyal customer base. I had to take a picture of the front window display – trains going around precuts was just too charming to miss!
There are just over 500 bolts of fabric here, ranging from Kaffe Fassett to Tim Holtz, with a nice selection of solids and blenders to go with them. Large and small prints are well represented, as is wool for applique. There are also tone on tones, and a small selection of wide backings. These will expand as Miss Lynn learns to long arm – for now, this service is a future offering. There are layer cakes here as well, a nice collection of rulers, and a selection of clothing fabrics. Check out the rubber stamps for scrap-booking and card making, as well as a wonderful collection of embroidery floss.
Samples are absolutely delightful – this is just the corner of one, but you miss a lot of the wonderful detail with a distance shot of the entire quilt. Check out the patterns for this and other quilts, and make yourself a kit to take along. Miss Lynn started as a fiber artist and print maker, and you can see the artistry in her quilts. There is also a selection of pattern by Then Came June from Portland, Oregon. They look complicated, but really are not.
I would plan to be here for at least twenty to thirty minutes – much longer if you have a model railroader along, or are one yourself!
