Continue south on US 27 for another 22 miles to the small town of Cynthiana, where you’ll find this wonderful shop owned by Taylena Cason-Burgan. It is part of a group of shops Miss Taylena owns, and on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday you will need to enter through the hardware store next door. Folks from the hardware will happily answer questions and cut fabric for you on these days. Payment is always made at the hardware. Edge to Edge Long Arm Quilting is available at a location down the street that is still part of this group. Please call the shop for details, pricing, and lead times.
Let’s talk about fabric. Over 3,000 bolts of quilting wonderfulness are housed here. There are 30’s reproductions, solids, blenders, and wonderful batiks. Large and small prints are available, and some wonderful Stack-n-Whack candidates can be found. There is a nice selection of panels, dots, and gingham. Check out the precuts – Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, and Charm Packs, and fat quarters. Dream Cotton batting and wonderful wide backings are also on hand. Look for the shelf of poly cottons for clothing, as well as tulle and satin. There is fleece, and a small selection of pre-quilted fabrics (think bags or robes). Yarn and DMC Floss are here as well.
This is the sale cart – check it out for some great bargains. There are not a lot of samples showing; the fabric absorbs all of the room available. I caught a couple above one fabric shelf, and there are others mounted on the higher walls – but those don’t photograph well! Be sure to check them out while you’re in the store.
I would plan at least twenty to forty minutes here – longer if you are a tool nut like me and have to check out the hardware store too!!
