Pink Petunia’s Patchwork Little Smokey, Alberta

Located just under two miles from AB-43 down Highway 745 (a really pretty drive; check out the bridge over the small river), this shop is in a brand new building built just for them. Owners Audrey Arnault and Roxanne Perron, along with Audrey’s son Zacary, operate the shop. The driveway looks like you’re heading to someone’s house; the shop is in the red building. Look for the Pink Pig sign that marks the turn off of 745.

There is beautiful fabric here, with more coming in all of the time. There are beautiful batiks, solids, blenders, and tone on tones. I saw some really tempting large prints that I would love to Stack-n-Whack, as well as smaller prints. Wide backings are available, and there is a nice selection of Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, and Charm Packs. Wildlife panels are featured here; very tempting sine I use a lot of these for Quilts for Survivors, a group that gifts quilts to survivors of Canadian Residential Schools for indigenous peoples. Fireside and Minky backings are also available. All in all, there were over 800 bolts on hand when I visited with many more on order.

Take some time to enjoy the samples, as well as looking through the completed quilts for sale. Some are made in house, and some are on consignment, so if you need a gift (or a treat for yourself) do check these out. There are also bags and table runners completed and for sale.

I love how the moose panel was done. I do a lot of panel quilts, and this one is stunning. If you are struggling with a pattern, do stop in and ask for help, as there is a lot of experience available here.

The shop owns a long arm system and is learning to use it, so check in periodically to see if they are ready to complete your masterpiece yet. I would plan at least twenty to thirty minutes here.
