This is the second shop in Whitefish, and the third stop along US Route 2. Owner Peggy Banka absolutely loves batiks and Stonehenge, and the shop shows it. Miss Peggy made her first quilt back in high school with scraps from clothing she had sewn, and eventually decided the job of her dreams was not only designing and making quilts, but it helping others to do the same.
There is a great selection of fabrics here, including blenders, plain Grunge, and of course batiks. Kaffe Fassett is well represented, and there is a lot of Stonehenge as well, including their line of gradient blenders. Wide backs are also available. All together, there are over 1,000 bolts of fabric from which to choose. There is wool available, as well a a nice selection of small and large prints. Add to that the largest selection of kits I have seen to date, not surprising given the name of the shop!
There are a lot of samples in the shop, all designed and made by Miss Peggy, and all with patterns and kits so you can make one of your own. The block and runner below are from Quilter’s Trek (Formerly Row by Row) and patterns and kits are available.
The shop also carries threads and other notions. I would plan to spend at least twenty to thirty minutes here – I spent over an hour!

Stop back on Thursday as the North American Shop Hop honors and celebrates out Veterans! My grandfather, father, husband, daughter, and son-in-law have served, and my son and grandson are currently serving in the Armed Forces.
