Whitefish Quilts & Gifts Whitefish, Montana

Located 35 miles from the Glacier National Park West Gate, this is the third stop along US Route 2 heading east. Don’t be surprised when you walk in the front door. You’ll think you’re in a gift shop, and you are, since this is a two for one shop. Head to the back; that is where the fabric is! Owner Theresa Wood has a busy gift shop just inside the door, and a wonderful quilt shop in the back.

Fabric rules the roost once you get past the gift selections, but don’t walk too fast; there are some wonderful things up front too!. There is a LOT of flannel, but given the average winter temperatures are in the teens, that’s not surprising. All in all there are over 4,000 bolts of fabric to keep you busy while you’re visiting, so plan some time to look. In addition to the flannels, there are solids and blenders, including Grunge. Batiks are available, as well as small and large prints. Don’t miss the picture quilts made from the batiks, done by Miss Theresa – they are wonderful. Pictures will appear below…

McKenna Ryan kits, patterns, and fabrics are available. Northern Lights patterns and kits are also here, as are picture quilt blocks or wall hangings designed by local artist Monique Kleinhaus and made by Miss Theresa. There are also table runners designed in house. The batik picture quilts are stunning in person. There were so many samples to be seen here that I didn’t take as many pictures as usual of the fabric, but I assure you, there is plenty in house!

Please plan to spend at least thirty to forty minutes enjoying this shop.
