Located just off of US Route 2, this shop started in 2003 as a Long Arm business, and grew into a full fledged quilt shop. Started by Pam Little and a friend, the co-owner had to move south and it is now a sole proprietorship, with a new name (chosen in a contest) in 2013. After all, if you have a long arm, you need wide backs; if you have wide backs, you need fabric to make the fronts; if you have fabric to make the fronts, you need patterns and notions… and a quilt shop appears!
There is a great selection of fabrics here, with over 1,500 bolts on hand at any given time. There are blenders and solids, and tone on tones. Batiks are well represented, and there is a lot of Northcott on hand. There are small and large prints, and a collection of Charm Packs, Jelly Rolls, and Layer Cakes. There are fat quarter bundles. Fall and Christmas fabrics are available year round and have their own shelves in the shop. A great selection of wide backs is available – I love these instead of piecing the backing; it is generally much less expensive and my long arm runs much more smoothly without the seams. There are also patterns and notions to simplify making your masterpiece.
There are samples hung throughout the shop. The bargello at the right is Heart Song by Grizzly Gulch, and it is lovely.
There is also a Friday afternoon Sew-In, so if you have a project in process, stop in and join the fun!
The other fun product here is DMC Embroidery floss. The shop tries to carry EVERY color, and there are a lot of them! Hand embroidery is popular in the area, so this is a great service to the community. If there’s a color you’re looking for, they do mail order… Please plan to spend at least twenty to thirty minutes here.
