The Fabric Shop Ruston, Louisiana

Located less that two miles from Interstate 20 in northern Louisiana, this shop has been serving the Ruston are for over 37 years. It is so much a part of the community that owners Ron and Louise Adams regularly change the window displays to reflect the current or upcoming community activities. The shop offers both quilting and fashion fabrics.

This shop is the sole source for Louisiana Tech University fabric. They started buying an entire mill run at a time when the manufacturer decided not to offer it any more, so if you have family or friends going to school there, this is THE place to get fabric for their quilts! Louisiana Tech is not the only fabric here. There are over 3,000 bolts of quilting fabrics, plus sequined fabric, linens, and silks for clothing. Quilt fabric includes solids, blenders, tone on tone, and large and small prints. There is also a nice selection of batiks. Panels, over 140 different ones, are sorted by themes. There are also Charm Packs, Layer Cakes and Jelly Rolls. If you’d like to embellish your quilt, there are buttons and ribbons on hand. Wide backs to complete you project are also available.

Don’t miss the samples displayed throughout the shop, There are kits and patterns for all of the display quilts, as well as pillowcase kits. you can also choose a pattern and the fabric to go with it, or the staff will be happy to help you build your own kit if you want to do so.

The shop is a licensed dealer for Pfaff and Baby Lock sewing machines, so do take some time to look at these when you are visiting. They also offer a Summer Sewing Camp for kids that includes a sewing machine, tools, a sewing box, notions, patterns, and fifteen hours of instruction.

Please plan to be here for at least 30 minutes to see all that they have to offer.

  1. Love the shop, I drive an hour and a half to shop there. Ron and Louise are very helpful, two of my favorite people.

  2. I, too, drive close to 2 hrs to get there, but oh so worth the trip! Louise and Ron as well as all the employees are so welcoming that’s it like home week! I love to look at all the fabrics. And if I need something later all I do is call up Louise, tell her what I need and she ships it out no later than the next day! That is service! Congratulations, Louise and Ron!❤️

  3. Great shop! I have been visiting this shop for years now and Mr. Ron is great at servicing your machines very knowledgeable. I have run into people who drove hours to bring a machine to him. We are blessed to have such a great store to go to, lots of friendly people, and lots of beautiful fabrics.
