This wonderful shop is located 16 miles from Highway 36, down a mile and a half of gravel road, and Google has the road name as Wislon instead of Wilson. Don’t let either of those keep you away! Owners Nicki and Steven Shrewsbury have a really fun and exciting shop. Steven does piecing and machine repair, while Nicki is the designer and long arm driver. Of course, they do mix and match, as each can cover for the other to some extent.
Both grandmothers quilted, and after storing blocks for some time, Nicki got back into quilting while she was working for the state of Missouri. Then she bought a long arm, added supplies and fabric, and a Quilt Shop was born!
Speaking of fabric, there are over 1,000 bolts here to delight you. Grunge is present in plain and stars, and there are great Stack-n-Whack choices. A great selection of smaller prints is also available. Don’t miss the batiks, and of course there are solids, blenders, and tone on tones. Kaffe Fassett is also well represented, as are panels and wide backings.
There are beautiful samples on display, including this lion with a three dimensional ribbon mane. Most have patterns, and Miss Nicki will be happy to help you decipher them if you have any problems. There is also a nice selection of rulers and notions – we all know how much fun those can be! Classes are not yet back in session, but do watch the online calendar for special events and early close days.
Long arm services are available, both custom and edge to edge computerized. Please call the shop for pricing and lead times.
The shop also sells Grace Long Arm Systems and Pfaff Sewing Machines, so do take some time to look at these when you are visiting.
Plan to be here for at least 30 minutes.
