Quilt ‘n Sew Connection Prescott Valley, Arizona

If you are anywhere near Prescott, Arizona, take a short drive – less than 15 miles – to Prescott Valley and visit this shop, particularly if you like Stonehenge fabrics. Owned by Kathy (Kat) Lohr, this exciting shop was a wonderful break from driving and had samples of several items I had not seen before. I really like Stonehenge for blenders, and there were a LOT of them!

The shop stocks over 2,500 bolts of fabric. There are some wonderful prints for Stack-n-Whack, as well as smaller prints. Solids and blenders are here, and a great selection of batiks. Stonehenge rules! The shop orders every Stonehenge that is made, so if you are looking for a color or pattern, this is the place to visit. There is also Riley Blake Shabby, similar to Grunge, but no Moda – the shop across the street carries that line.

Samples are displayed throughout the shop including this collection of “succulents.” I had not seen these before, and they are adorable. If you don’t have a green thumb, how about a silver needle? The pattern is available, and is a great way to use up those scraps you have after any project = or you can start with fresh yardage. In fact, patterns are available for most of the samples, as well as kits for many of them.

The shop is a registered Bernina dealer, and offers both machines and maintenance. Long arm services are also available; please call for details.

There was a charity project in process when I was there. Patterns were provided for a specific block, and each block made gained an entry into a gift card drawing. The blocks are being made into charity quilts, and with over 500 blocks received, that will be around 42 quilts. One is on the machines at the left.

The shop is also a drop off point for the local food bank. Please plan to spend at least 30 minutes here.
