Cotton Weeds Quilt Shop Freeport, Maine

Located just two miles from Interstate 295, you will need to tell Google Maps the store name, or it will take you to a residence in South Freeport.  Owned by Michelle and Lori Maxim, this shop was described by one of their customers as, “Great staff, very helpful!”

There are over 1,000 bolts of fabric here, including 30’s Reproduction, Kaffe Fassett, nautical prints, solids, blenders, and a lot of batiks. There is also a wonderful selection of wools and cork.  Pay attention to the samples hung around the shop.  Most have patterns, and some have kits.  The shop will help you to select fabrics to match you décor if you wish.

Cotton Weeds is also a Baby Lock dealer, so if you are looking for a new machine, stop in and browse.  The staff will be happy to give you a demonstration.

If you enjoy bags, check out the selection available here. I really like the panel on the side of the bag – what a great beach bag that would be! Patterns are available , as well as the panel for the side.

Long Arm Service is available, so if you have a top you need to have finished, call and ask about lead times and pricing.

Don’t miss this wall hanging behind the counter – I love the sentiment! It really looks like me hunting for fabric….

Plan to spend 30 to 40 minutes here.

  1. Love the beach bag of girls playing at the beach in the water. I have a picture like that in my spare bedroom. I may have to consider that panel.

Like the stash picture……… and no if you can not find the fabric you are looking for you do not have to count it as part of your stash………. LOL
