Owned by Cheryl Deschamps, The Sewing Shoppe Quilting Fabrics and More has just moved to a new location in Oldcastle, Ontario. They were still unpacking from the move when I visited.
The owner will tell you straight out that she is not a quilter – but she knows a lot about quilting and has quilters on staff. I asked how she came to own a quilt shop? It seems she started out making coffee cup cozies for craft shows, and found she could get fabrics much more reasonably by the bolt. Then she had all of these partial bolts of fabric hanging about – what to do? Open a store, of course! The rest is history. She may not quilt, but Miss Cheryl knows fabrics and can answer any questions you may have.
There is a wonderful fabric selection for quilting – and if you sew clothing, she has a great collection of clothing fabrics as well. This includes waterproof prints for rain gear, and any notion you may need. There are also over 250 different panels available to tempt you. Shelving was being decided while I was there, so enjoy exploring and see how it came out!
The Sewing Shoppe also hosts a gift and consignment area, allowing local artist to sell hand made items. I saw a great selection of Pillow Cases, Place Mats, Bibs, and Burp Clothes.
There are also baby dolls and stuffed animals, so if you are looking for a gift or souvenir, be sure to check these out. Enjoy the selection of fleece blankets as well.
The Sewing Shoppe also carries wide backings and jelly rolls. Plan to spend some time enjoying the diversity of this delightful shop.

Stop back on Friday and see where in Ontario the North American Shop Hop is going next. I have one more stop before I head back into Michigan…
Do you have any panels with “daughter” sentments in them? No not the one with jusy text in it. Thanks for your time.
Please contact The Sewing Shoppe directly at 519-776-1100, or PM on Facebook. I am not the shop; I am a retired person who travels around visiting shops.
Thank you! Jean Heller
