Sewing Creations Warner Robins, Georgia

We’re taking a little detour today to look at sewing machines.

Sewing Creations, five minutes from I75’s Warner Robins exit, is owned by Jane Mixon.  If you use gingham’s, do embroidery, or are looking for your dream machine, this is definitely a place you need to see.

There is not a lot of fabric here – but the gingham is woven rather than stamped, so if you like it square stop in.  They do carry small amounts of other fabrics, and have a lot of backing fabrics for embroidery

The main focus of the shop is Husqvarna and Baby Lock sewing machines, and they are experts at showing you how to get the most from your machine.  They also stock a wide selection of threads for your embroidery pleasure.

Wander though the sewing machines and check out the attachments. Each machine has a different sample of what that machine can accomplish.  If you are looking for ideas or attachments, you are in the right place!

Sewing Creations carries both embroidery machines, straight stitch machines with some fancy stitches, and sergers.  As I’ve seen in other shops, sewing clothing is making a real come back, so sergers are gaining in popularity. Check out the clothing fabrics here as well as the gingham.

Suppose you have a picture drawn by your grandchild that you’d like to have as a pillow, or a T-shirt, or a quilt block.  The Baby Lock Destiny embroidery machine can scan any picture and digitize it – and then embroider it onto whatever fabric you choose, moving their art from the refrigerator to a more permanent home.

Sewing Creations also repairs all types of sewing machines, including long arm systems.  They have a repair person who is part engineer, part wizard,  and who has (so far) been able to find a substitute for parts for older machines when the parts for that machine are no longer available.

There are also quilt samples in Sewing Creations.  These have been sewn and then quilted “in the hoop” on embroidery machines.  I hadn’t realized how much quilting one can do on and embroidery system.

If you’re in the Warner Robins area (home of Robins Air Force Base, where my favorite Airman is stationed), take some time to visit this shop.
