Located just a few miles from the Maryland border, and 15 miles from Gettysburg, this delightful shop is a Bernina dealer and a wonderful fabric shop, all rolled into one. David Danner is the name on the paperwork, but this is a family owned and family run business.
With over 1,000 bolts of cotton fabrics, you are sure to find a friend to follow you home. There is Tilda, Kona solids, blenders, and tone on tones in both black and white. There is a lovely selection of batiks, and both large and small prints. Fabrics by Jackie Robinson, fabric and Quilt designer, are also on hand. Don’t miss the latest “Catitude” prints! There are wide backs, including a large flower print by Amanda Murphy that was used as a focus fabric in one of the samples. Look for the fat quarter bundles, strip bundles (think flat Jelly Rolls) as well as panels and “Grab and Go” panel kits. They also have a nice selection of wool, some commercially dyed and some hand dyed. Patterns and samples for various bags are here as well.
The shop is a licensed Bernina dealer. They also carry Koala Cabinets, as well as locally made custom cabinets. They also carry just about every presser foot Bernina makes. For the embroidery specialist, there are over 400 colors of thread to tempt you.
If you want to finish your own quilt, you can take a class on the long arm for edge to edge quilting, and then rent time on the machine. Please contact the shop directly for more information on this.
Samples are on display throughout he shop, both on walls and hung above shelving. The Focus Fabric for the quilt at the right is actually the Amanda Murphy wide back I mentioned above, and it is stunning as a backing or as a quilt. Please plan to spend at least thirty to forty-five minutes here.
