Located on a Mennonite Homestead just about 10 miles from Interstate 76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike), this delightful shop is both a general store and a quilt shop. Owner Anna Mary Hoover carries all of the items you would expect in a true old time General Store, including clothing and a small selection of toys, as well as a great selection of fabrics and trims.
The fabric selection includes solids and blenders, as well as a great collection of tone on tones. There are also batiks and large and small prints, many suitable for Stack-n-Whack. There is a nice selection of panels as well. If you have seen the new patterns for One Block Wonders made with panels, do check out the selection here! I found the black bears an interesting possibility… With over 900 bolts of cottons, not to mention poly cotton clothing fabrics, you are sure to find several that will need to come home with you.
This shop also carries a selection of completed quilt tops. I know some of us are “quilters” and some are “toppers” – love to piece the tops but quilting not so much. This is a quilters dream – some one else has already done the piecing! Don’t miss the pre-printed quilt blocks to embroider – these are great take along projects for long car rides, and can be made into quilts after they are all finished. Also, do spend some time enjoying the great selection of trims and other notions. If you enjoy embellishing crazy quilts, these are a must see.
