Located about 22 miles from Interstate 90, this shop is worth the pleasant drive through the countryside to find it. Google Maps had it located on the opposite side of the road; watch for the red barn with multiple quilt blocks painted on it. The shop is the white building up the driveway. Owner Elsa Poole was originally going to start a horse blanket repair service, but quilting kind of took over.
There are some amazing wildlife panels here, done from photographs taken by a local artist. In addition, there are over 1,000 bolts of fabric, including solids, blenders, tone on tones, and batiks, There is Grunge, and a great selection of both large and small prints. There are Jelly Rolls, Charm Packs, and Layer Cakes. Three yard quilt kits are also available; these make really nice throw sized quilts.
There are a lot of samples on display around the shop Many also have patterns and kits, so you can make one of your very own.
There is a Christmas Block of the Month in progress, as well as an Applique Club. If you do a lot of embroidery, consider the Thread Club, where you have a year to buy a set amount of thread at a discount. The shop has a Long Arm System available, which you can use to finish your quilts after taking a class on how to use it properly.
Plan to spend at least thirty minutes here to see everything.
