Located less than two miles from Interstate 59, this delightful shop is a fifty fifty split between fabric and sewing machines. Owner Allison Slayton has both this store in Hattiesburg and another store in Meridian, which is the first and primary store. I unfortunately did not have time to visit the Meridian store, perhaps next trip…
There are at least 250 bolts of fabric here, ranging from solids and blenders to prints both large and small. Buttons, ribbons and trims, and patterns and notions are also available, as well as a nice selection of vinyl foil. There is a Block of the Month is progress as well. I was delighted to be able to complete my collection of polka dots for a new pattern I’m designing.
The shop is a licensed dealer for Brother, Juki, and Baby Lock, as well as Grace and Handi Quilter Long Arm Systems. Be sure to make time to look at and compare all of these machines when you are visiting. Repairs on all machines are done at the main store in Meridian, however, the shop transports the machines between stores, so you don’t have to drive there to drop off your baby to be looked at if it is having issues.
Please plan to spend 20 to 30 minutes here, longer if you’re checking out the machines.
