Sew to Speak Worthington, Ohio

Just over two miles from Interstate 71 in Worthington (Greater Columbus area), you will find this delightful shop sharing a building with the local library. Owned by Anita Gastaldo, the shop features quilting fabrics, clothing fabrics, and a nice selection of Merino yarns.

There are over 1,200 bolts of quilting fabric here, including solids and blenders, wide backs, and several shelves of Ruby Star, including prints I had not seen before. These are shown below. There are wide backs if you need to match something for your latest finished top. Charm Packs, Jelly Rolls. and Layer Cakes are represented, as well as a nice selection of prints. Stack -N-Whack temptations abound! Clothing fabrics include flannel (which can also be used for quilting), rayon, knits, viscose rayon, and double gauze.

There are samples displayed throughout the shop. Samples from one class were displayed in a “Mini Show,” which was really interesting. I looked at them for a bit before I realized they were all made with the same pattern – the different fabric selections made that much difference. There are other samples as well, so make sure to check all of them out. Patterns and kits are also available.

Juki Machines are sold here, There is a long arm available for rental after taking the class to teach you how to use it correctly. If you really like it, you can buy one of your own…

If you knit or crochet, take some time to look over the yarn selection. I also found the peg board used as cross stitch fabric for signs really creative. I can see using this idea in a child’s room, or in my sewing room. I was here for about 30 minutes, so plan at least that much time.
