Owner Lynn Irish started her career sewing children’s clothing, and then progressed into quilting, but she kept her store name. WhipperSnappers has been in business since 2003, and is located in a former bank building about 10 miles from Interstate 295, just south of Augusta.
The store carries over 1,000 bolts of quilting fabric. These include over 80 wide backs to service both her long arm and quilting customers, panels, batiks, bright colors, blenders, and a few solids. There is a wide selection of tone on tone prints, that can be used for softer shaded quilts or accents for the bright colors. Check out the Stack-N-Whack options as well. With all of the bright prints, there are lots of choices available.
Patterns, patterns, patterns! There is a wonderful selection of patterns available, and the staff will build you a custom kit for your pattern if you so desire. There are several here that I had not seen previously.
The shop also packages their own custom kits, so check these out while you are there. If you don’t like the color wave but love the pattern, ask to have it redone in your colors!
There are samples to be enjoyed all over the shop, like this three dimensional looking piece. The pattern is available, and it is really a lot simpler to make than it looks!
