Located in a college town just 10 miles from Interstate 94, this shop, formerly known as Thread Lab, been in the area for years. New owners Kris and Trent Isaacson took over June 1, 2023, and changed the name to Fiber Lab to acknowledge the expanded yarn availability. If you visit while college is in session, do bring quarters for the meters!
Although yarn has been expanded, this is still very much a quilt shop, with over 1,000 bolts of fabric on hand. These include Kona solids, wonderful blenders, and a great selection of large and small prints. There are some panels, as well as 60″ wide Minky for backings. Cotton 108″ backings are also on hand. Don’t miss the fat quarter packs, jelly rolls, and charm packs!
Being a college town, of course there are school related samples! This is just one of them. Other samples include smaller projects, and there are kits for quilts as well as table toppers, pillowcases, and other small projects. If you need something that you can complete in an afternoon, check out what is on hand. Classes are offered for both quilting and knitting; please check the listings online and see what fits your schedule.
