Located just over two miles from Interstate 41, or a block or so from Monday’s shop, this shop started as a sewing machine store and added fabric later – over 1,000 bolts of it. Owner Rosemary Malzahn’s shop has a completely different look than the one down the street, giving local quilters and expanded fabric selection and allowing both shops to flourish.
Fabrics include Kaffe Fassett in both 45″ and 108″ Lengths. There is also Tilde and a great selection of the Free Spirit Tropical fabric line. There are solid sand blenders, and some tone on tones. Batiks and large and small prints are on hand. The shop also carries Japanese Yarn Dyed fabrics, similar to Homespun in that they are yearn dyed, but these are different in look and feel, and come in stripes instead of the plaids Homespun favors. Don’t miss the Fat Quarter packs, Charm Packs, Layer Cakes, and Strip Packs! Sue Spargo hand dyed wool is also available. Cork in several colors and patterns is here as well.
Check out the samples, and then check out the Accuquilt Go systems and dyes. This table runner is cut from a dye set. Buttons, ribbons and trims for embellishment or clothing are her, as well as a selection of home decorator fabrics.
The shop is a registered Bernina dealer, and also carries sewing furniture and cabinets. All brands can be brought into the shop’s repair center; please call for more information. A selection of Amann Embroidery thread is available to play with your new or existing embroidery machine.
I would plan to be here for at least twenty-five to forty minutes, longer if you are planning to try out the new machines.
