Located just over two miles from Interstate 41, this delightful shop has been in the area for over 50 years, and under the current owners, Julie Karosek and her husband (the silent partner) for seventeen years. Miss Julie currently does a YouTube program called Must See TV every Thursday at 7:00 PM Central, where she shares tips and tricks to aid the new and experienced quilter, as well as what’s new at the shop, ideas for projects, and the occasional insider tip. If you enjoy Grunge, you will find plain, dots, stars, and metallics here. There are also solids and blenders, and tone on tones in both white and black. There are batiks, and large and small prints. Wide backings are also part of the over 4,000 bolts of quilting cotton on hand here. Designers include Kaffe Fassett and Tim Holtz. Fall and Christmas are available all year. Cotton flannels are here, and there is also a selection of linen.
Samples are labeled with the Pattern Name and the Fabric needed, which I found quite useful, since there are a lot of samples. How many times have you told yourself, “I’ll get that next visit,” and when you come back it’s sold out? You’ve been warned… Bag samples and patterns are also on hand.
There is a “Business in a Business” that provides long are services in the shop but not by the shop. Contact information is available; please just ask. I would plan to be here for at least thirty to forty-five minutes.
