Located just about five and one half miles from Route 30, and right off of PA 722, this delightful shop was featured in Quilt Sampler Magazine in 2017. Owned by Jan Mast, there are two buildings. One is the store, and one is the classroom and soon to be retreat center for up to eight guests. There is a parking lot available behind the shop, as street parking in this historic town is pretty much non-existent. Access the parking by turning between the store and the classroom, or turn at the corner and go around behind the building. Just watch for people and horses and buggies and so on…
Now, let’s talk about fabric!
There are over 6,000 bolts on hand here at the brick and mortar store – and another 6,000 mostly different bolts in the on line store. I saw Kaffe Fassett, Tula Pink, Tilda, and Tim Holtz, to name a few, There are solids by Kona and several lines of blenders, including plain Grunge. Large and small prints abound, and there are beautiful batiks. Tone on tones are on hand, as is toweling. Check out the Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, and Charm Packs, and don’t miss the fat quarter packs, sorted by color wave. Christmas and patriotic fabrics are available all year, and there are lots of panels. The National Park Panel is in, but if you want it, order soon – they sell out pretty quickly. Wide backings are also on hand.
Samples generally have kits, ans there is a monthly embroidery club. There are 50 classes currently running or in the queue, so if you are going to be in the area and want to join in, please check out the dates and costs online. Samples of class items are displayed behind the counter. There are plenty of patterns available, including Laura Heine Collage patterns. There is also a large collection of Creative Grid and Quilter’s Select rulers to choose from to help with your next project.
Edge to Edge long arm quilting is available; please contact the shop for pricing and lead times. The item on the rails in the National; Parks panel made into a quilt, and it is gorgeous!
I would plan to be here for at least thirty to forty-five minutes to enjoy not only the fabric, but the roomful of kitchen gadgets! There is also a nice selection of handcrafted items for sale if you need a gift and don’t have time to sew.
