Located just about seven miles from Interstate 265, this was a bonus shop – one of the customers at a previous shop told me I absolutely had to go and visit here as well, and I definitely agree. Owner Jennifer Carter has been serving the local community since 2011, and there is a wonderful atmosphere of camaraderie between the customers and staff. Their motto is “We quilt more and stress less,” and it definitely fits. I was given a store tour by a customer, who was in line, since the staff was busy helping the folks ahead of her – it’s that kind of shop!
There are beautiful fabrics here, over 2,000 bolts, including solids, tone on tones, blenders, and plain Grunge. There are also large and small prints, and a nice selection of wide backs. Riley Blake is well represented, but batiks did not sell well in this area, so these have been eliminated in favor of more prints. Christmas and Patriotic fabrics are available all year. There are panels, and a nice selection of precuts including layer cakes, Charm Packs, Candies (2 1/2″ Squares), strip packs (similar to Jelly Rolls), and Fat Quarter Packs.
This is a Brown Bag Mystery Store, a collection of shops participating in the annual Brown Bag Mystery by Karen Montgomery. There are other quilt kits available as well, and wonderful samples. Many of the samples are for classes, and most have kits available. There are other patterns on hand as well, so fell free to build your own kit from the fabrics on hand! If you need help selecting fabrics, the staff is quite willing and able to offer advice or confirm your selections.

Busy Lady is a registered Janome dealer, so take a few minutes to check out the new machines while you’re visiting. They are getting to the point where I just might have to buy something that does more than simple stitches. This machine had a sampler next to it with most of the fancier stitches, and it was quite tempting! I would plan to be here for at least thirty to forty-five minutes to enjoy everything.
