Located just off off Kentucky 15, I noticed this shop when I was in the area helping to rebuild after the devastating floods that occurred last July 28th, and I had to stop in and visit.
Owner Carolyn Davis opened the shop in July of 2020, and carries a delightful collection of universally bright and cheerful fabrics she classifies as “modern unique”, not to mention wonderful samples.
About that unique fabric, expect to see collections by Kaffe Fassett, Tula Pink, Art Gallery, and Northcott. Solids are by Painters Palette, and the colors are rich and delightful while the fabric has a wonderfully soft hand. There are blenders to go with the large and small prints, and flannels, also by Art Gallery. Wide backings include offerings by Tula Pink and Kaffe Fassett, among others. I would use many of them as a focus fabric in a large block quilt, or a “giant diamond” lone star. Civil War reproductions are available, as are tone on tones and a few batiks. Don’t miss the vibrant Jelly Rolls, Charm Packs, and Layer Cakes, and be sure to check out the sale shelf! I found some wonderful bargains there (and violated my budget rules…) There are also flannel Layer Cakes and Fat Quarter Bundles, which I don’t see that often. A flannel layer cake would make a really fast fringed square quilt!
There are wonderful samples here, made by shop employees, with patterns available. There is a Prayers and Squares Group that meets every Wednesday afternoon. Participants, sew, knit, or crochet, and visitors are quite welcome to join in the fun. The shop is also a drop off and pick up point for local long arm quilters; please contact them for more information. I would plan to be here at least thirty to forty minutes to see everything.
