Sew ‘N Bee Cozy Seward, Alaska

Located in downtown Seward, this delightful shop is a beautiful drive across the Alaskan peninsula from Soldotna to the Gulf of Alaska. Make sure you check out the coast in Seward – you may even spot a whale in the distance! The shop is owned by Sheila Squires, a very experienced quilter who is able to answer just about anything you need to know about any pattern you may be working on, or a new pattern you pick up at the shop. She can help you to pick fabrics, too!

Speaking of fabrics, there are over 3,000 bolts on hand here. Look for Kaffe Fassett, M&S Aboriginals, and over 150 panels. There are solids and blenders, tone on tones, and large and small prints. Don’t miss the great selection of batiks! Wide backings are available in cotton and cotton flannels, since it does get cold up here. There are Alaskan themed laser cuts – moose, bear, whales, and so on – to add to your quilts. Jelly Rolls, and Fat Quarter packs are also available. There are also clothing fabrics, very common in Alaska where stores are widely separated and the weather prevents travel for days sometimes.

Check out the beautiful samples – the Big Dipper quilt is a shop exclusive and there are kits available. Long Arm services are also available; please contact the shop directly for pricing and lead times. I would plan to spend twenty to forty minutes here.
