Located just over five miles from SK-1, the Trans Canada Highway, this fascinating shop has been in operation since 2012, providing a place for crafters and quilters to meet and share ideas and enjoy spending time with other quilting enthusiasts. Don’t miss the fun displays of shoes, proving once again that the right pair of shoes can start an adventure! Owner Cindy Radford and her staff are all experts in quilting or sewing, with side expertise in bag making or needlework, so if you have a project you’re struggling with, do plan to stop by and ask for help.
The normal stock in the shop is at least 6,000 bolts of fabric. There are solids and blenders, including plain Grunge. Check out the selection of both black and white tone on tones, large and small prints, and Tula Pink. Christmas and fall fabrics are on hand all year, and there is a nice selection of Canadian themed fabrics. Flannels are available, as are wide backs, fat quarter packs, 5″ square packs, layer cakes, and 2 1/2″ strip packs. Vinyl for making bags and purses is also on hand, and bag hardware and patterns are also available. Ribbons and trims are available for clothing or embellishment, and there is a selection of fabrics for clothing on hand as well.
The shop is a registered dealer for Bernina, Baby Lock, Brother, and Handi Quilter, so take some time to check out the machines. Classes do not require you to bring your own machine, so you can try one of the shop machines and get tempted…
Samples are displayed both in the shop and in the classroom on the second floor. Patterns are available for both quilts and clothing. The shop also has certified Kimberbell teachers. Laura Heine collage patterns are also available.
I would plan to spend at least thirty to forty-five minutes here to see everything. Don’t forget to get a tour of the classroom upstairs – there are great samples up there!
