Fabricville Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada

Located just about two miles from NB 2 (Trans-Canada highway), this shop is one of a much larger chain that started 50 years ago when FabricLand moved into Quebec and eastern Canada. I was told by someone at another shop that I needed to stop here – I don’t generally write up large chains, but this store did not “feel” like a big chain store; in fact, I didn’t realize that it was until after I had visited, so I decided to include it.

There is a great selection of fabrics here, from clothing to home decorating to what I was looking for – over 3,500 bolts of 100% cotton quilting fabrics! There are flannels and panels, Christmas year round, and Fat Quarter bundles. Solids and blenders and tone on tones are also on hand, and that last picture isn’t fennel! There is also a nice selection of batiks on hand. Northcott’s Stonehenge and canvas printed cottons are here as well. Don’t miss the wide backings – there are about 35 on hand ranging from semi-solids to prints and some fun feathers. Once you’re in the quilting section, you won’t even notice the rest of the store, because there is so much to catch your attention.

The shop is a licensed dealer for both Brother and Janome machines – who wouldn’t want this green cutie? Be sure to check out he machines; there are some great choices for a new travel machine if you’re in the market.

Check out the display of quilting styles on this panel! It is one of many quilted samples on display around the store. Some have kits, and there are also many patterns, so pick a pattern and build yourself a kit! I broke the budget and got the lighthouse panel – I couldn’t resist.

I would plan to spend at least thirty to forty-five minutes here for the quilting supplies; longer if you wander into the home decorating and clothing fabrics…
