Located almost exactly a mile from Interstate 40, this shop is an easy stop if you are traveling through, and a great break from driving. Owner Juls Martin bought the shop just three years ago, and has been adding fabric and other goodies ever since. The name is completely appropriate – there are indeed dozens of ideas for sewing and crafting here! For instance, have you ever wanted to paint a Barn Quilt Panel? She has classes for that!
It’s not just crafts, however; this is a full out quilt shop . With over 2,500 bolts of assorted styles and colors of cotton fabrics, you can definitely get lost in here for awhile. I saw plain Grunge, as well as other blenders. There are solids and tone on tones, and some wonderful Island and other batiks. Don’t miss the large (think Stack-n-Whack) and small prints. Fabric lines include Tilda (great solids!), Tula Pink, Northcott including blenders and ombres, Robert Kaufman, Kimberbell (yes, they make fabric too!) and many more – these are just the ones I recognized by sight. There are also Bali Pops and fat quarter bundles. For the embroidery enthusiast, there are Kimberbell patterns. The shop also carries heat transfer vinyl – think of the ponds you could make on your landscape quilts with that!
Samples are tastefully displayed on pretty much every available wall – they are everywhere but it does not look crowded and you can enjoy each sample. Many have kits and patterns, so feel free to ask if you don’t see one.
This is a busy place – classes are in full swing, so please check online to see if you’d like to be a part of any of them. There is also Open Sew time on days that there are not classes.
The shop is a registered dealer for Janome, Brother, Handi Quilter, and Bernina, so if you are in the market for a machine be sure to check these out and compare. They also service all brands, so if your baby needs help do call and ask for time and pricing.
