Located just 15 miles from Interstate 77, this combination florist and quilt shop is owned by sisters Norma and Sadie Hochstetler. There are wonderful flower arrangements to be found here, and in fact most of the pictures you will find online are of flower arrangements. Don’t let that fool you. This is a full quilt shop, complete with fabric, patterns, and notions, as well as a florist. There is also quilting expertise, which can be just as important as the fabric!
I counted over 1,200 bolts of quilting fabric the day I visited, and there is another entire room nearly as large with clothing fabric and notions. Quilting Fabrics include some wonderful prints, as well as solids, blenders, and tone on tone. There are batiks, and a great selection of wide backings. Flannels are available, and there are some wonderful wildlife and other panels. Check out the Charm Packs, Jelly Rolls, and Layer Cakes while you are visiting. Clothing fabrics are mostly solids in polyester and blends. There are also notions like zippers and trims, and quilting rulers and patterns. The shop also carries a full line of stamped quilt blocks and tops to be embroidered prior to quilting.
Embroider these!
If you like buttons for clothing or embellishment, there is a great selection on cards as wells a bin full of older ones where you can sort through and pick out what you want or need. If you are missing a coat button, this would be a good place to look for a matching replacement!
Sample quilts include this wonderful Lone Star in black and white prints. There are also a lot of quilts for sale, kept in plastic to protect them. There are also stamped whole cloth quilt tops, with matching binding pre-cut so you don’t have to try to match it to the top once you’re done quilting it.
