What does a registered dietician do when their mother-in-law is a Bernina dealer who wants out of the business? Take over, of course, and open a quilt shop to go with the machines. This shop is also right off of US Route 2. Owner Kim Dietrich named it after her three daughters, Jenna, Emma, and Maggie, and it is a delightful place to visit.
The three girls are also involved in the shop, from designing patterns and making samples to selecting fabrics and building kits. Speaking of fabrics, be prepared to spend some tine looking when you arrive. There are over 2,500 bolts of fabrics in house. Large prints suitable for Stack-n-Whack are available, as are smaller prints. There are solids and blenders to coordinate, as well as Grunge in plain and stars. Don’t miss the great selection of batiks! Fat Quarters are stored nar the bolt they came from, which makes it easy to find when you just need a little of the fabric. There is also a selection of wool – something I love to look at but dare not touch! Panels, Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, and Charm Packs are available, as well as wide backs in both cotton and Cuddle. You can also subscribe to various Block of the Month clubs by mail or pick-up. There is also an Aurifil Thread Club, and various others clubs. These change regularly, so please check them out on the website.
Samples are displayed throughout the store, and if there is one you really like, you can reserve it for your own, since these are sold when they are retired. There are patterns available for the samples, as well as kits for many of them. Of course, you can always “build” a kit from the patterns to match your style and decor. Help to do this is available if needed..
As mentioned, the shop is a certified Bernina dealer. Do take some time to look at the machines while you are in the shop. Repairs are also available in house. Long arm services are available; please call for pricing and lead times.
Please plan to be here for at least 30 to 40 minutes to see everything.
