Stitcher’s Quest Mary Esther, Florida

This shop is a little different in that it is located inside an enclosed shopping mall.  The easiest access is to go around the back of the Santa Rosa Mall; it is right inside the back entrance.  It’s about 100 miles from Panama City, along Route 98, which is the coastal highway – a beautiful drive! Owned by Judy Musteric, the shop opened in the fall of 2015.

Fabric rules here, with over 3,000 bolts in house and on display.  There are wonderful prints, including a collection of college prints.  Yes, there are great Stack-n-Whack choices! Don’t expect to find Moda, but that does not limit the selection at all. In fact, there are fabrics here I have not seen elsewhere, and the rich jewel tones and ombres are gorgeous. Solids, blenders, and tone on tones are available, as are wide backs and batiks.  Pre-cuts including Jelly Rolls, Charm Packs, and Layer Cakes are well stocked.

Block of the Month clubs are available by mail in either a foundation pieced or traditionally pieced style.  There are also panels and a nice selection of quilt kits.

The shop is a Bernina dealer, and also carries Accuquilt Go dies and supplies.  Make sure to check out both of these while you’re visiting.  I’ve used an Accuquilt Go at my local shop and really find it worthwhile for patterns like the Hunters Star.  All of the points match!  There’s a great selection of embroidery threads and patterns here as well, so you can play with your Bernina after you purchase it.

Long Arm services are available; please call the shop for pricing and lead times, as the lead time tends to vary with the seasons.  This masterpiece was in process when I visited.

Plan to spend at least 30 to 40 minutes here to see everything.
