Located less than five miles from Interstate 70, this shop is a Kaffe Fassett lover’s dream. The sign is a simple statement at the base of the front window – don’t let that fool you! The fabrics draped in the front windows tell the real story. Owner Sarah Fayman is not only a sewer and quilter herself, but her entire staff sews either clothing or quilts, so they can answer any questions you may have.
They also make all of the store samples, so if you have a pattern or kit that you’re having problems with, you can talk to someone who has probably already made the it.
In business since 1973 and stocking over 6,000 bolts of quilting fabrics, with over 700 of those being Kaffe Fassett, this is a wonderful stop for anyone who likes both Kaffe and Stack-n-Whack. Clothing fabric is also well represented. Quilting selections in addition to Kaffe are solids, blenders, plain Grunge, batiks, large and small prints, and wool. I saw enough large prints for Stack-N-Whack to keep me busy for the rest of my life… There is also a wonderful collection of black and white prints, which I enjoy using with a pop of red. There are also ribbons and trims for the crazy quilt enthusiast, or for clothing, as well as bags complete with patterns to make your own.

Notions, anyone? From rulers to gadgets to tools, if you can use it, this shop probably has it. If you don’t know what it does, ask. There will be someone on staff who has used it and can easily tell you how to use it and why you want it. There is also a great collection of sewing machine needles of all sizes. Rulers are on a rack by themselves – enjoy trying to pick only one!
Don’t miss the samples hung throughout the shop, complete with patterns and in most cases kits. Like the pattern but not the kitted fabric? Staff will happily help you to do your own kit!
Plan to spend at least 30 to 45 minutes here, longer if you get lost in patterns or sew both quilts and clothing.
