Located less than a mile from Interstate 74, this shop in Champaign is one of four locations owned by Lisa Furleigh. I was only able yo visit this location this trip – I will have to catch the other three next time I’m in the area!
The shop stocks over 5,000 bolts of fabric, so there is a lot to see here. There are solids and blenders, batiks, small prints, and some great Stack-n-Whack candidates. The top 50 selling Grunge colors are stocked in plain, and there is also a selection of Grunge dots. Kaffe Fassette is represented, as well as a selection of hand dyed fabrics. Fat quarters are stocked near the bolts they came from, and precuts – Layer Cakes, Charm Packs, and Jelly Rolls – are here to tempt you. Shelves are organized by color group, so you can take a print and go find it friends very easily.
Don’t miss the samples hung throughout the shop! There are both patterns and kits for most of them; the remainder are class samples so you can learn to make your own. Call for the class schedule, and pick one that looks challenging and sign up! You can also join Miss Lisa every Thursday at 6:00 PM Central on YouTube for tips, classes, and humor. Check out older broadcasts for some great information.
Quilting in the Valley is a licensed Bernina dealer, so check these out while you are in the shop. Machines are serviced at the LaSalle store. They courier the machines from the other locations, so you are free to drop your machine off at your closest shop. Plan to be here 30-45 minutes.
