Located just 7 1/2 miles from the I270S loop around Columbus, this shop is owned by husband and wife team Teri Brown and Carl Luckeydoo. Google Maps is a little confused – it takes you to the back door after going through a senior living complex – but it will get you there. You can skip the turn onto Lehman Drive and stay on West Waterloo for a more direct approach to the main parking lot.
Once you arrive, there is a lot to see. The shop is compact, but don’t let that fool you. There are over 3,000 bolts of fabric here, and all of it is fun to explore. Pay attention to the various sheep around the store, a salute to Miss Teri’s farm upbringing and the name of the shop, and they’re cute as well! Fabric ranges from wide backs to batiks, to solids and blenders to prints. Tone on Tone prints are here in both white and ivory. There is also wool, hand dyed by Miss Teri, as well as a nice selection of wool kits, assembled in house using the hand dyed wools. Patterns and cotton quilt kits are displayed throughout the shop. Unique to this store is mixed media kits, using both cottons and wools in the same quilt. Don’t miss Carl’s Sale Corner – there are some wonderful bargains!
There are samples to be seen all over the shop. I found the owner’s own design of the Pumpkin Quilt shown on the right wonderfully detailed and fun. It is a mixed media, and there are kits for the individual blocks or the full quilt. It has to be seen in person to be really appreciated.
Long Arm services are available in house – please call for pricing and lead times. The quilt on the rails when I was in was coming along quite nicely! Creative Grids Rulers of all kinds are on display as well. Plan 20 to 30 minutes here to see everything.
