Tennessee Quilts Jonesborough, Tennessee

I need to start this post with an apology to this wonderful shop. I was actually there several months ago, but somehow filed their data without actually writing the post. I found it when I was clearing out my 2020 files and setting up for 2021. I’m claiming a Senior Moment!

I have used this shop to find fabric I needed several times over the years, and was really excited to finally see them in person. They are located just under seven miles from Interstate 26, down TN-354. Located in historic Jonesborough and owned by Linda Crouch-McCreadle and Brenda Crouch, this two story shop stocks over 8,000 bolts of fabric. There is an entire wall of Kaffe Fassett, as well as a Sale Room, a July Fourth Wall, a year round Christmas room, and a great selection of Fall and Halloween prints. They carry wonderfully patterned wide backs, including one that is maps.

Samples rule the walls here, and with two stories open at the front, there is a lot of room. Those not on the walls are displayed near the fabrics used to make them; kits are also available. Many of the kits are familiar, but made with unusual fabrics – think Judy Niemeyer in Kaffe Fassett fabrics. Kits for this adventure are available… Check out the deer; he is stunning in person. Antique machines are also here to be admired!

Plan to spend at least an hour here. I was here almost two hours by the time I looked at everything and chatted with the wonderfully helpful staff about projects I had underway and ideas for some of the fabrics I found here. Then, when you are finished, take a ride to their Retreat Center, February Hill Quilting Retreat House, a short distance away. It is in a restored 1832 residence on a four acre block, right in downtown Jonesborough, perfect for up to twelve quilting friends to get away and laugh, quilt, and enjoy each other and the grounds. It is also in walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and special events. Check it out on their website or call the store and ask for Linda, and start making plans!
