This wonderful shop is housed in an addition to the owners home, and is only two miles from US 54W in the No Man’s Land portion of the Oklahoma Panhandle. Owner Cheryl Ashpaugh started her business as a long arm service, and has expanded into a full service shop – which also required expanding the addition to her home to house all of the fabric.
The Oklahoma Panhandle was originally termed “No Man’s Land by a New York newspaper, and was claimed by neither Texas nor Kansa for nearly 40 years until it was made part of Oklahoma in the 1890’s. This history is commemorated in the annual No Man’s Land Quilt Retreat, hosted by this shop. Please check their website for more details.
There are over 750 bolts of fabric here, including a lot of prints, many of which are suitable for Stack-N-Whack. Blenders, tone on tones, and solids are available to complement or highlight the prints. There are batiks, and a great selection of Stonehenge, including the Ombre wide backs. If you haven’t seen these, you are missing something wonderful! I used one on the quilt that is on my bed and I love it. There are also charm packs, jelly rolls, and layer cakes. Fat quarter bundles, panels, patterns, and kits round out the offerings.
Don’t miss the many samples to be seen throughout the shop. These include Quilter’s Trek Kits (formerly Row by Row) for this year and several previous years, as well as a wonderful French Braid, and the Jelly Roll Star Fade quilt shown on the right. The windmill is the 2020 Quilter’s Trek offering. Many are in with the fabric, like the ones shown below.
Long arm service is available, with Hobbs 80/20 batting included. You can choose between computerized or free motion quilting. Miss Cheryl has been doing this since 1978, and her experience shows. She is also available to help the novice (or more experienced) quilter select fabrics and patterns, and answer any and all questions related to quilting.
