Located just about four miles from Interstate 40 down historic Route 66, you will find this fun shop in Tucumcari. Owned by Diana Beck, this shop opened in 2006 and has been serving the surrounding community ever since. It is a fabric store, a yarn store, and a consignment sales out let for local craftspeople.
Desert Rose carries over 1,000 bolts of quilting fabric. There are a lot of batiks, as well as a great selection of prints, many suitable for Stack-n-Whack. They also carry a good selection of solids, tone on tones, and blenders to compliment their prints. A collection of Route 66 themed fabrics is also present. Don’t miss the selection of layer cakes, charm packs, and candies (2 1/2″squares) in matching prints! There are also panels, and kits that can be customized to your color selections if you so choose. Do you have the urge to use your embroidery machine (or your hoop and needle) to make embroidered towels as gifts? Check out the nice selection of toweling by the yard.
If your companion is not into quilting, there is yarn available, as well as other crafts If none of these is interesting, there is an easy chair for them to relax in while you shop – but not before they check out the nest on the counter. This is made from trims off of fat quarters, and has been growing since the shop opened 14 years ago. It’s about 14 inches tall.
Samples are displayed everywhere, and there are patterns available. Some also have kits. If you like the pattern, it can easily be made into a kit – just ask!
Christmas BOM 
Long Arm service is available using edge to edge or pantographs. Please call for pricing and lead times. There is a Block of the Month going on, via pick-up only, since classes are not allowed right now.
In addition, there is a selection of consignment items for sale, made by local craftspeople. I haven’t seen these “Book Angels” for years, but I do enjoy them! Completed quilts are also available, and everything in between. The selection changes often, so check while you are in the shop. Plan to be here for 30 to 45 minutes.
