Due to current COVID restrictions as of this writing (12/14/20) the shop is open for online and curbside pick-up only. Please call for more information as this situation remains fluid.
Settling into a new location just a mile from Interstate 40, Stitchology is an intriguing shop. Owner Melisa Hart is not just an avid quilter, she is also a quilt designer, and also offers sewing classes for all levels. Landscaping for the new location was in process when I visited in October.
Speaking of fabric, there is a lot of fabric here. Over 1,000 bolts on hand include both quilting and clothing fabrics. There is a wonderful selection of solids and blenders, including Grunge in plain and dots. Prints are sprinkled on every shelf, along with coordinates. Cork in several colors is also available. For my fellow Stack-n-Whack enthusiasts, there is a nice selection of candidates to play with.
Don’t miss the samples hung throughout the shop. New Mexico hosts one of the largest mass balloon launches in the country, so of course there is a panel and kit to celebrate this event. Pay particular attention to the bird quilts. These are designed by Miss Melisa, and are available as patterns or kits. The detail is on these is phenomenal.
There are patterns for quilts, clothing, and bags. There are notions for quilting and clothing, from rulers and templates to buttons, zippers, and bag hardware.
Plan to be here for 20 to 40 minutes to explore everything.
