This shop is actually two in one, a quilt shop and a machine repair shop. Located just 25 miles from Interstate 90, owner Twila Prociw calls it a “Mom, Pop, and Kid” business. Jim (husband) and Casey handle the repair side including scissor sharpening, while Twila is the fabric expert. Of course, there are overlaps!
There is a great selection of fabrics here, with over 2,000 bolts in house. Styles range from solids and blenders to batiks and prints, with wide backs in both smooth cotton and cotton flannel. There is also a nice selection of panels, and tone on tone in various shades of white and cream for neutrals and accents. The shop also carries Aurifil and King Tut thread.
The annual Quilt Retreat was cancelled due to COVID, so the shop did four days of fun instead. They has five (socially distant) people a day for four days, and one project was fancy masks in different categories. The masks were then displayed for customers to vote for a winner.
Check out the Handi Quilter long arm systems while you are here, as the shop is a registered dealer. If you are not ready for your own machine, the shop will happily quilt your latest creation for you. Please call for pricing and lead times. They also carry HQ Stitch, Handi Quilter’s sewing machine.
Make sure you admire the various samples displayed around the shop. There are patterns available, as well as classes for many of them. Kits are also available.
Plan to be in this shop for 30 to 40 minutes to see everything, including the sale room!
