Lavender Patch Fabric & Quilts Bristol, Indiana

Just about three miles south of Interstate 90 in Bristol, Indiana, you will find Lavender Patch Fabric & Quilts. Owned by Pat Barnes, she bought the shop from the former owner after having been a regular customer and then a teacher for the shop. Fun fact, both the current and former owner’s husbands are named Richard…

There are lots of bright prints here, as well as blenders, solids, batiks, and 30’s reproduction fabrics. Large and medium prints suitable for Stack-n-Whack are featured as well. There is a crib full of children’s prints, including stuffed animal and book panels. The book panels can be made into books or quilts. Panels and precuts are also available. Samples are everywhere for enjoyment and inspiration.

Don’t miss the Tiger Digital Panel, and the quilt made from it. I spent a fair amount of time just looking at it – you will find hidden tigers throughout the panel. Look at the tree, the mountains, the moss, and even the chest of the largest tiger. See how many you can find!

Edge to Edge Long Arm Quilting Service is provided here, using hand guided pantographs. Please call or stop in for pricing and lead times.

Classes have resumed for limited numbers, so that every student can have her – or his – own table to maintain social distancing. Open Sew – same rules – is on Friday. The classroom also has the largest ironing board I have ever seen – custom made, of course! Plan to spend at least 30 to 45 minutes here.
