In a brand new location just a mile from Interstate 75, owners Melissa and Bill Klingensmith took advantage of the COVID shutdown to move into a new location that is two a and a half times larger than their previous site. I was there less than a week after the move, and it is fantastic.
The site was a previous furniture store, and they have taken advantage of the multiple rooms to set up classrooms, a studio for online classes, and multiple rooms of fabric and sewing machines. First the fabric. There are solids, prints, blenders, and a nice selection of Tula Pink. More fabric was on order and is more than likely in house by now. With more space, of course there will be more fabric! There were well over 1,000 bolts on hand when I was there.
There is also a great selection of wide backs to select from, so you can match or compliment your quilt top. Long Arm Services are available in the shop, so you can have your quilt finished if you so choose.
As one might guess from the name, this shop is a Bernina dealer. They represent Handi Quilter Long Arm Systems as well. If you don’t want to bring in your quilt to be finished – come shopping and bring home your own long arm machine instead! Mr. Bill also does in house machine repair and scissor sharpening.
Are you shopping with a non-quilter? Invite them to relax in the lounge while you spend an hour or so wandering from room to room checking out this wonderful shop. You may end up having to shop awhile longer while they watch the end of a program or finish a chess match, but I’m sure it won’t be any strain at all!
